Hope Your Birthday Doesn't Blow

Hello everyone!  Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a CAS (clean and simple) birthday card.

Supplies used:

Balloon Stencil
Cloud Stencil

First, I lightly inked the Cloud Stencil onto my card panel then inked the balloon. Using the same colored ink, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment within the balloon. I distressed the panel edges and adhered to the card base.

On the inside, I lightly stenciled both the cloud and balloon stencils again, adding the sentiment just over the cloud as seen above. (I actually like the look of the inside as a card itself! (: )

To My Peeps Topper

Hello everyone!  It's Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a sweet Easter treat with (most) everyone's favorite seasonal marshmallows.

I die cut the Fancy Topper Die base from white and the top panel from Doodlebug Designs Easter Express paper in a lovely rainbow plaid. I embossed the sentiment and smaller bunny in gold and die cut with coordinating dies. I tucked a couple of marshmallow Peeps in a baggie and added the topper. So sweet!

You Crack Me Up

Hello everyone!  Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a pair of treats for my girls. I found these adorable mini egg cartons filled with egg-shaped gum at Dollar General. My girls always ask for bubblegum so it was an easy decision to toss these in the basket. (Bonus: They were only $1 for a package of 4!)

The project is rather self-explanatory. I did curve the stamp just a bit to better fit the curve of the tag die. I lightly inked the tags with pink ink and tucked beneath the die cut Easter eggs.

Just Chick'n In

Hello everyone!  Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a farm fresh card. We have a bunch of chickens and I love checking on them throughout the day. Right now, we are collecting up to 16 eggs a day from those little ladies! So, in honor of them, I created this rustic woven basket full of eggs.

Lucky Leprechaun Treats

Hello everyone!  Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a sweet leprechaun treat for St. Patrick's Day. With Valentine's Day behind us, it's time to turn everything green and gold and this leprechaun in particular has been my favorite. These treats will be tucked in my girls' lunch boxes this year. They see this cute little guy every year.

I left one of the toppers open so you could see what I stamped on the back. To play up the gold embossing, I added a decorative border to the topper with gold mirror cardstock. Gold Kisses would have been a better match but my girls do NOT like the almonds.. LOL I could have kept them all green, but like the color mix in the bag.

Hello everyone!  Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with another fun Galentine's Day card. I had so much fun with the newly released sentiments! This time I paired a sentiment with watercolored french fries, adding a silly expression to the french fry on the bottom left.

Jaded Blossom Mini Embellishment Album

Hi!  It's Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today sharing this super cute mini embellishment album I made for my Secret Santa swap partner on the JB Design Team. I used various dies and the new paper pad to embellish this album.

The album was meant to be filled with paper embellishments but it works well for candy too. I think it would be great for smaller gifts, treats, and a gift card. All-in-one gift! And, the recipient can reuse themselves or fill for someone else.

I followed this tutorial by Pinkstrawberryz on YouTube, with two pocket modifications. I used 6" wide paper instead of 6.5" and created a box fold on the bottom (with those additional tabs -- see below) instead of the way she shares in her video. The little Stitch characters are clipart I purchased from Etsy.

I love using vellum and this inner vellum envelope is a great way to tuck things inside but allowing them to be seen as well.

I hope Ms. Jamie enjoyed receiving it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Gingerbread Gnomie Box

Hi everyone!  It's Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a sweet gable treat box. The tag sentiments fit perfectly on the stitched front panel. I couldn't resist using pink for this adorable holiday treat.

I colored our tasty little dude with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers.  I colored the open "GNOME" letters an ombre pink and inked lightly over the word "GINGERBREAD" with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, which was also used around the panel's edges.  As with the other treat boxes from last month's release, my youngest promptly claimed this one and added to her realm of Christmas joy.

Merry Campers

Hi everyone!  It's Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today, sharing a fun card using the newly released Merry Campers stamp set. I created a similar card design for the first day of release sneaks (Jaded Blossom November Release Day 1). For my card today, though, I used deeper tones for a more "grown up" look. Although, I really do love the gingerbread camper a bunch. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers. I think it's awesome Jaded Blossom released a set for those that take their vacation time on the road.

Witches Brew Luggage Tag

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a fun, quick Halloween tag for those that need one in a pinch. Halloween will be here in under a week and Jaded Blossom's sentiment tag stamps are perfect for quick projects.  Since I stamped and colored the cauldron apart from the tag, I was able to ink the Brick Stencil over the stamped sentiment then adhere the colored cauldron.  I love the look of the stenciling behind the sentiment.

Just My Blood Type

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with another fun Halloween project. I decided to do some serious matting and layering on this one, using traditional orange and black.

The sentiment really cracks me up--I used to work in a hospital lab (including the blood bank) and stick patients for blood collections. I've been called all sorts of blood sucking names.. LOL I die cut the pumpkin from patterned paper in my stash and scraps of cereal boxes (for the outline and vine). The adorable gnome was colored with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers.

October Monthly Rolodex

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a monthly Rolodex divider card for October. I die cut the solid pumpkin and top layers from a beautiful orange cardstock in my stash. To add more dimension, I cut two additional layers from scrap cardboard packaging (think cereal boxes) and stacked beneath the top orange layer. I considered making the card a shaker but liked it without. I reserved one of the cardboard stems for the pumpkin and added a leaf and vine. The month word "october" was also cut from cardboard, adding two additional die cut layers to the very end of the word (lower loop of the "b" and "er") so that the month would have stability with the rest of the word supported by the pumpkin. (Does that make sense?) I very lightly inked the top of the word before adhering to the Rolodex card. The leaf paper was from my stash and rather light-weight so I backed it with a die cut piece of cardboard as well. Let me tell you, this Rolodex card is sturdy!

Franken-gnome

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with an adorable Halloween treat. I colored up the adorable Frankenstein gnome from last year with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers and added him atop the incredible Coffin Die.

This coffin box is really large and an all time favorite. I love to layer stencils and couldn't resist adding a wee bat with the die cut "BOO". I'm starting early on my Halloween treats so they are done and I can make sure Christmas is done early enough this year too. (LOL)

I die cut the cup envelope portion and wrap sleeve from a holiday paper pad in my stash. I embellished the sleeve with small die cut poinsettia. I love it!

Nutty Or Nice?

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a fun Christmas in July themed tag. The sentiments in Nutcracker are really funny. I chose to embellish (my fav) Luggage Tag Dies for today's project. I watercolored the nutcracker and layered scraps of paper as a sort of ribbon behind the small "nutty or nice" circle. I stamped the larger "Nutty or Nice?" sentiment on the back of the tag.

Bean Thinking About You

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a sweet, heartfelt card. I wasn't sure what to use today -- there are always so many ideas and so little time (chuckle) -- but then I saw this gnome and sentiment. I inked a rather simple background with 3 of our stencils that created such an awesome backdrop for this caffeine loving gnome and his cup of joe.  Do you enjoy scene building with stencils too?

To add more dimension to the gnome, I stamped the hand and cup separately, layering with thinner dimension. I love how he turned out.

You Make My Heart Saur

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with an adorable dinosaur from this month's release. I used the letterpress technique with the Jungle Leaves Stencil to create the background. I die cut an opening from the leaves panel and inked a cloudy sky for our Pteranodon. After stamping the sentiment, I mounted the leaves panel with dimension than added the dino. I love the pop of orange against the light blue sky and green leaves.

Marcia on the blog today.  In celebration of Pride month, I created a clean and simple rainbow card for my Jaded Blossom share. A simple stitched panel with light clouds was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful rainbow and sentiment. A piece of rainbow striped paper from my stash was tucked behind the panel for an extra pop of color.

Party Animal Bread Tags AND Tag Swap Announcement!

Marcia on the Jaded Blossom blog today with a pair of birthday tags to help kick off our first tag swap! Scroll down for details and link to sign up. First, let's talk about these cutie little furballs. I stamped the critters onto watercolor paper and embossed, then watercolored with Karin Brushmarkers. After fussy cutting, I attached them to the stamped tag sentiments and layered atop these fun Bread Tag bases.

Sign ups are now open for a birthday themed tag swap. Using any Jaded Blossom focal image(s), create 5 birthday tags. You can make them all the same or different, that is entirely up to you. You can add ribbons or not, just make them your own. Sign ups will be open for 1 week, closing end of day May 31. Around the 1st of June (or shortly after), I will send all participants an email with where to mail your tags -- just make sure I get them by June 26th, the last Saturday in June. Please mail your tags in a padded envelope; I will be returning your swapped (all different) tags using that exact same envelope. All of the details with dates are on the sign up form.
