Guest Designer Jennifer!

 Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

It’s Jennifer here and I’m back with another card as Jaded Blossom’s December Guest Designer.

Now I don’t know if any of you are like me, but I think it’s never too early to start building up your stash of Christmas cards, so here is one I’ve made in readiness for next year.

I started with a sheet of pretty patterned paper filled with candy canes, gumdrops, and Christmas goodies that I cut to 5.25x 4 inches and layered it onto a deep pink US A2 card base.

Next, I used Jaded Blossoms’ Wine tag die and cut the shadow layer from some teal card stock and the top layer from some tone-on-tone paper that was from the same patterned paper pack. I trimmed the top off the wine tag with a paper trimmer and once layered together with foam tape it was added to the card base.

wanted a focal point for my image, so I cut an internal scalloped circle from light pink cardstock and added it to the center of the wine tag.

The adorable reindeer popsicle from the Sweet Christmas Wishes Stamp Set was stamped, colored, and cut out with its matching die and added to the card with more foam.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped in bright pink ink onto white cardout with the coordinating die and placed below the main image and that finished this project.

I’m so pleased with the finished result.

It’s been such a pleasure to have been with you all this month.

Happy New Year everyone

Guest Designer Jennifer!

 Hi Jaded Blossom fans!

I’m Jennifer and I’m delighted to be Jaded Blossom’s Guest Designer for December.

Some of my favorite stamps from Jaded Blossom are the ones that feature their adorable gnomes. I slowly collecting them all because they are way too cute, and you can never have enough gnome stamp sets…right?

For my first card I decided to create a cute Christmas card Christmas Is Gnoming stamp set and dies and the Sunburst Card Mat Die. I decided to use a more traditional Christmas color scheme, however, I think this would look great in any color combination.

I began by cutting the Sunburst Card Mat die from some red cardstock that has a tiny gold polka dot pattern. For contrast I inlayed the outline with some plain green cardstock. Then layered the background onto a candy cane striped card layer and added it to a landscape, US A2 card base.

Next, I stamped the cute reindeer/Santa gnome with alcohol friendly black ink and colored it with alcohol markers. I added highlights with a white gel pen which gives the images a more 3D look. I cut the stamped and colored image with the coordinating die and mounted it onto the background with foam tape for dimension.

For the sentiment I stamped and gold heat embossed the phrase “Santa gnomes if you’ve been bad or good” (you gotta love Jaded Blossoms puny sentiments!). The sentiment was cut out with a paper trimmer and layered onto more candy cane striped paper. I also popped this up with a bit of foam tape and added it to the card front. The finishing touch was to add a few gold pearls around the sentiment and image for an extra bit of shine. So, there you go, a quick and simple Christmas card that is easy to mass produce.

Have a great Christmas and I will be back soon with some more card making inspiration.

Christmas Ornaments

Hi everyone...every year I make Christmas ornaments for my dining table for each guest...I also make a few extra for friends etc. These were the ornaments this year. Jaded Blossom's Snowman Faces were the starting point. I didn't make a video of these as I just ran out of time...but if you'd like a step by step guide...pan down...I also have a list of all the products that I used. Thanks for stopping by...Hugs Lee-Ann :)
**Check out the Jaded Blossom store HERE

Tutorial:

I started out with 1" wooden blocks that I found on Amazon...I used a small finishing nail to add a small starter hole on the tops of each head block in the center...then I screwed in little eye pins...I found these at the hardware store...just large enough for my black string to fit. I then painted each wood block with the Titanium white matte paint. Let them dry. I then stamped the faces and the buttons using Versafine clair nocturne ink using an acrylic block. ...I let that dry...then I painted the noses with Pure Orange...the tongues with Lipstick red...let that dry. I used an R20 Copic Marker to Add blush to the cheeks...avoiding the ink. I used the Copic Marker E74 to colour in the pipes...avoiding the ink. I then used my Sakura white gelly roll pen to add highlights to the face and buttons. I used a rotary cutter to cut 1/2" strips of flannel for the scarves...I cut strips of black suede string for the hangers. I then took my blocks out to the garage and used a dremel tool to distress the edges. Once that was complete...I used Ranger Matte medium to glue the head block to the body block...I tilted them at an angle for a fun look. Then I let them dry over night. I then tied the scarves around the necks and tied on the hangers...and Voila...you are done.
