I have a trick to using small die cut letters for placing them all at once and even on your project - you may already know this or do something different but thought I'd share since it saves time and frustration:
After I have cut out my letters, I line them up on my work mat on the straight line.
When I like how the letters are, I take a piece of Removable Scotch Tape and place the tape over my letters.
Next, I lift the tape off with the letters stuck to it and using a glue pen, I place glue on the back of the letters.
I then take the tape and place the letters where I want them, press down on the letters to adhere them and then gently peel the tape away. Walla, the letters are all placed exactly where I want them and even!
