Warm Winter Wishes!

Happy Friday everyone! It's Rosie here today, and I'm back with my first blog post for 2024! I took a few weeks off in December to relax and enjoy the holidays. It was also one of the first years in a long time that we didn't travel, and let me tell you...it was really nice! I truly enjoyed the down time, but now it's time to get back to crafting. I have to say, I did miss it while on my little break.

I have a lot of unused stamps that I've been eager to ink up. I just LOVE these adorable penguins from the Winter Panels Stamp Set. I created a winter scene by cutting out a panel using Rectangle Dies 2 and inking it up to create a blue sky background. I used the Tree Stencil with Distress Oxide Inks to create 3 trees. Then I cut a separate white panel and used one of the dies in the Border Dies 2 set to create the snowy ground which I raised on foam tape. I fussy cut the penguins and also raised them on foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Winter Is Gnoming Stamp Set. To finish off the card, I used the Scallop Rectangles Dies 2 to cut the black scallop mat behind my scene panel, and then glued it to an A2 white card base.

Remember, you have until January 6th to play along in the Jaded Blossom Add Some Gold Challenge for a chance at winning a free stamp set! You don't have to have a blog to play along. You can load your card to the Jaded Blossom's Garden of Creativity Facebook Group and then add your link from Facebook. There are instructions HERE to help you!

And be sure to check out the Jaded Blossom Store for all your stamps and gift giving supplies. They have various Cutting Dies to make party favors along with Favor Bags and Boxes.

Have a great weekend!

TREE-mendous Birthday Wishes!

For the month of April, Jaded Blossom is having a STENCIL CHALLENGE! I made a card previously for this challenge using the Tree Stencil (you can view it HERE), and decided to create a different type of card using the same stencil. I love that this stencil comes with both the outline and inset part of the stencil so you can do overlays on your project.

For this card, I used the main stencil and a combo of Distress Oxide Inks and Memento Ink to color in the trees. Then I laid the tree cut-outs over the colored trees so I could add the clouds and grassy area around the trees, but still be able to keep the crisp outline of the trees. Did you know you can also use die-cuts as stencils? I use the cloud border die from the Border Dies 2 Set and cut a piece of cardstock. Then I laid the cloud border down on my card panel and rubbed Broken China Distress Oxide Ink along the cloud edge. The sentiment is from the Seasonal Tree Stamp Set (retired).

We hope you play along in the April Challenge for a chance to win a FREE Stamp Set! Be sure to check out the Jaded Blossom Store for all your stamps and gift giving supplies. They have various Cutting Dies to make party favors along with Favor Bags and Boxes.

 Hugs,
Rosie
